Lottery Ticket to make winning debut

first_img FANCIES The exotic bets start anew on tomorrow’s 11-race Caymanas Park programme after punters cashed in over the Easter weekend. Both Super-6s offer the guaranteed minimum of $750,000, the first commencing from race one through to race six, and the twilight six embracing race six to 11. We look at the first Super-6, which gets under way with a 4-y-o and up restricted stakes over 1700 metres to be contested by six starters, including the likely favourite BALLON D’OR, to be ridden by top apprentice Linton Steadman for top-line trainer Anthony Nunes. The former record-priced yearling at the 2013 TOBA yearling sale has finished second in his two recent races, failing by 1-1/2 to beat MIND SET over 1400 metres, a performance that gives him the edge over SHINE (running well) over what is a more ideal trip for him. The improving filly MAMETA, with Orlando Foster aboard, holds the key to the second race for maiden four-year-olds over 1100 metres following her good second to CHEXIMAKIT in the Al Gopie Memorial Cup over the straight last Saturday. MAMETA, a lightly raced 4-y-o filly by Storm Craft from the stables of Patrick Lynch, looked improved when running with Lasix for the first time six days ago and now pointed in the right direction, should lead home SONG ON TRACK and IAMALLABOUTTHEBEST in a field of nine. Six horses from the $250,000 $210,0000 claiming spread will contest the third race over 1500 metres. Down in class 4-y-o colt CAMOUFLAGE, with only 52.0kg for the services of 3.0kg claiming apprentice Bebeto Harvey, should have the measure of the consistent BATIDOR DE MUNDO with Jevanne Erwin aboard. These two look a cut above the others and it should be close between them. A field of 10 maiden three-year-olds is slated for the fourth race over 1100 metres, from which the well-forward debutante LOTTERY TICKET (Omar Walker up) is tipped to open her account right away. Trained by 15-time champion Wayne DaCosta, this 3-y-o bay filly by Seeking The Glory out of Just A Flutter has looked sharp at exercise, catching the eye on March 12 when galloping 1100 metres in a brisk 1:08.0 by 1:01.4. Only last Saturday, she looked easy in a 1000 metres gallop in 1:02.0, and with her preparation complete, should lead home fellow debutante AUNTIE RHONDA (Shane Ellis up) and FLYING MACHINE. The last two races in the first Super-6 should be won by another DaCosta-trained first-time runner RUNAWAY GAL, (working well) with Walker aboard, and recent winner FORCE DE JOUR under the improving apprentice Javaneil Patterson in the sixth race over the straight for high claimers. Their respective dangers are LIKE A LADY and BIG GEORGE.
