first_imgFormer Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Lassana Diarra has hinted a potential move to Manchester United after declaring himself a “free agent”.Diarra enjoyed a superb first season at Marseille after joining them from Lokomotiv Moscow last year.The contract he signed on arrival last July runs until 2019 but now he has claimed that there was a break clause included in the deal which he could activate should Marseille fail to qualify for Europe.The south of France club finished in 13th, 48 points behind champions Paris Saint-Germain and way back from the European places – and now Diarra wants out.And the 31-year-old holding midfielder is hoping for a reunion with Jose Mourinho, when he takes over at Old Trafford.Speaking the L’Equipe, Diarra said: “I am now a free agent as there’s a clause in my contract that allows me to leave if the team did not qualify for European football.“I hope Marseille will stick to their word.“I will never forget Marseille and the fans, who showed me a lot of love. I do not know yet where I will play next season. I am calm about my future, there’s time. I have not signed for PSG.“Jose Mourinho? I know him well. I have enjoyed some great times with him.
