Sharon (Kraus) Callender, 71, Wellington: Rosary is Friday, Funeral is Saturday

first_imgSharon Callender(Updated: Wednesday, 9:45 a.m.) Sharon (Kraus) Callender would like you to know her work here is complete. It was an exhausting but exciting life, she accomplished so much. But now she’s off to bigger and better things.Rosary will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony – St. Rose Catholic Church. Family and friends will gather together for a remembrance ceremony at the Raymond Frye Complex in Wellington, KS on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. A light lunch will be served following the celebration.Sharon was born in 1945 to John (Jack) and Eileen (Hebbe) Kraus of Wellington. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1963 and then attended nursing school at St. Johns College in Winfield, KS. She received her BSN in nursing and Masters Degree in Gerontology from Wichita State University. Sharon devoted her life to improving the life of the elderly in skilled nursing homes in both Sedgwick and Sumner Counties.Sharon is survived by her three sons, Nick (Darla) of Mayfield, KS, Wayne (Jill) of Boise, ID and Greg Callender of Greensburg, KS; two granddaughters, Kristen Keeler and Karley Callender; one great grandchild (and one on the way); two sister, Leta Logan of Caldwell and Cindy Tracy (Bud) of Wellington, KS and her dearest friend Vicki Barton of Wellington.She was preceded in death by her parents, Eileen and Jack Kraus; brother, Dean Kraus and sister, Kay Kraus.Sharon enjoyed a wide range of interests including reading, puzzles, world events, travel, politics, collecting toys and socializing.There will be no visitation.Memorial donations may be made to the Wellington Humane Society in Sharon’s memory.Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.To leave condolences or sign our guest book, please visit our website at www.frankfuneralhome.netlast_img
