People are going to be trying to go out and have a good time,” said Broome County Sheriff David Harder. “Be merry, but use your heads, let’s not drink too much so you get arrested for DWI or you get in an accident and hurt yourself.” Sheriff Harder says if you’ve had too much to drink, order a taxi or share a ride. You should also call a friend, he said. They say the amount of drunk drivers on the road increases during the holidays.
