America is celebrating like a cloud has left the skies, and a weight is off our hearts

first_imgRight now, a pandemic is raging. Right now, the economy is in recession. Right now, the nation is suffering from four years in which Donald Trump did everything possible to rewind decades of progress and tear at the foundations of democracy. But right now. Right now. All of that has to be set aside. Right now, it is time to shout. To cry in joy and in relief. To jump. To dance. To celebrate.People celebrate on Black Lives Matter plaza across from the White House in Washington, DC on November 7, 2020, after Joe Biden was declared the winner of the 2020 presidential election. - Democrat Joe Biden has won the White House, US media said November 7, defeating Donald Trump and ending a presidency that convulsed American politics, shocked the world and left the United States more divided than at any time in decades. Because of course he was. In the spirit of new transparency, America deserves to see that score card. This isn’t just about the character of the president. It Is Finally Spring!

first_imgWhat a pleasure it has been the last 2 weeks. We have finally reached spring time in southeastern Indiana.  With the lack of rain and the warm, sunny skies, it is great to be outside again.  The spring high school coaches have to be relieved that weather is improving.  The first 2 weeks of April were a nightmare for all the coaches.  Not only did they not get their contests played, but they could not even practice in most cases.  Rescheduling is almost impossible because of the shortness of their seasons. If you have ever tried to hit a ball on a 30-degree afternoon or tried to play tennis in the rain, you know what I am talking about.  Some schools try to run track meets, but you certainly run a risk when you ask a young athlete to do something like long jump on a cold, rainy afternoon.  My daughter still has a bad ankle because her dad insisted that she jump on a rainy, April day.  She slid off the board and sprained her ankle badly.  I am smarter now!!Thank heaven for these nice days!last_img read more
